The XKR-S is the pinnacle of the Jaguar sporting range, and the new convertible is the fastest, most powerful open-top Jaguar GT in the automaker's history. The XK model was designed as a convertible from the outset, so the transformation from the Coupe to the open-topped GT was possible without compromising on performance, agility or refinement. Just like the hard-top, the acclaimed AJ-V8 is at its heart, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 4.2 seconds and to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 186mph.

The supercharged 5.0-liter V8 is capable of delivering 542hp and 502lb-ft of torque, and the Performance Active exhaust gives the XKR-S a distinctive race-car inspired soundtrack as well as aiding higher power and torque. The lightweight aluminum architecture and revised front & rear suspension provides the car with high torsional rigidity, and increased agility, precision and control; while aerodynamic design changes applied to the Convertible to maintain its stability at high speeds has given the car a striking appearance, with a new bumper that incorporates a wider, lower air intake, a carbon-fiber splitter and twin side nacelles.

The car's new sills smooth horizontal air flow and emphasize the 10mm reduction in ride height, and balanced aerodynamics at the front & rear is ensured by a unique rear wing with carbon-fiber insert. In just 18 seconds the convertible roof will open and stow, revealing an interior that features carbon-leather trimmed Performance seats, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Jaguar-embossed stainless steel pedals. Available in six colors including the classic British Racing Green, the XKR-S sits on forged 20-inch alloys through which bright red or subtle gunmetal calipers can be seen.

Priced at £103,000 for the UK market, only a limited number of XKR-S Convertibles will likely come to the US and are sure to sell out as quickly as the coupe.
