The Mexican supercar has finally arrived in North America for its debut in LA.
Mexican supercar company Mastretta has just arrived at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, and they have brought their MXT along for the ride. The much-acclaimed MXT has long been a favorite of the Top Gear UK presenters (plenty of irony in that statement) and the 'specially constructed vehicle' will launch soon in the two North America markets. Scheduled for sale in the U.S. and Canada, the MXT will cost around $60-65,000.
For a quick refresher, the semi-monocoque chassis of aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastic will run on a twin cam in-line turbo 4-cylinder, capable of putting out 260hp and 257lb-ft of torque. Weighing in at a slim 2,662lbs, it can sprint from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds. Mastretta wants to sell 100 units of the MXT supercar in the U.S. in 2012 and by 2016, they plan on producing 500 copies a year.
