Set to debut next month in Los Angeles, Lamborghini is pulling the sheets off its latest iteration of the Gallardo, the Performante. Using your best translation skills, "Performante" means Performance in Italian and this machine is the long desired spyder version of the Gallardo Superlaggera LP570-4. Like its coupe sibling, the Performante features extensive use of carbon fiber and is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 with 570 hp.

Performance should be about the same as the coupe, going from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 202 mph. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, word is that it'll actually be lighter than the typical Gallardo spyder by around 67 lbs. This may very well be one of the last hurrahs for the beloved Gallardo, as a replacement is on the horizon. We most likely saw an early glimpse of it in concept form at the recent Paris Motor Show, called the Sesto Elmento. Photos displayed are of the 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera
