With the Aventador stealing the headlines, a new Gallardo on its way and the Urus crossover still hanging in the balance, it would be all too easy to forget about the Sesto Elemento. Lamborghini first showcased the concept over two years ago, but true to its word, it has finally put it into production - albeit very limited. Similar in form to the Gallardo, the Sesto Elemento is made principally of a form of carbon-reinforced polymer developed in-house by Lamborghini.

The lightweight construction helps keep weight down to just 999 pounds, motivated by the 562-horsepower 5.2-liter V10 from the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera to give the Sesto Elemento a power-to-weight ratio of 1.75 lbs per horsepower and a 2.5-second 0-62 time. Production has finally started at Lamborghini's new prototype center in Sant'Agata, where the Sesto Elemento is built along a dedicated assembly line consisting of five work stations. where each of the 20 examples to be made is intricately put together by hand for its exclusive billionaire clientele, each of which pays 1.5 million euros for the privilege of ownership.
