Aventador Roadster

Design updates of the open-top Aventador have been leaked and according to the Italian publication Quattroroute it will be coming to market with a Targa-style removable roof. Made of carbon-fiber, it will be split in two pieces for ease of assembly and removable, and an onboard storage solution for the roof panels is expected. If they do go down the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport route, drivers will have to decide whether to hit the road vulnerable to the elements before leaving home.

The reason for going down this route is so that engine covers for the coupe and roadster can be kept identical, which helps from both a cost perspective and getting the roadster to market quickly. Quattroroute also claim the Aventador Roadster will share the same drivetrain as the coupe, so a 700hp V12 will transfer power to all four wheels via a 7-speed sequential automatic transmission. Having failed to turn up in Geneva, we very much expect the Roadster to debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, shortly preceded by some official news and pictures.
