The Ferrari 458 Italia's worst nightmare is just around the corner.
Lamborghini's upcoming Gallardo replacement, rumored to be called the Cabrera, is entering its final testing phase. To help keep this process as secret as possible, Lamborghini engineers and test drivers are working on Cabrera development mules in the early morning hours at the Nurburgring. How do we know this? Our spy photographers were on hand to snap photos of the new Lamborghini doing a few hot laps around the track.
Although it's still covered in heavy camo, we can clearly see those large front air intakes and an overall sleeker profile than that of the outgoing Gallardo. Power is expected to come from an updated version of the 5.2-liter V10 that'll be good for about 600 horsepower. The six-speed manual and the e-gear automated manual are going to be dropped in favor of a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. An official debut is expected next March at Geneva.
