Lamborghini has announced today in Kuala Lumpur that they are producing 20 units of a new special edition Gallardo for the Malaysian market. The Gallardo Malaysia Limited Edition (MLE) was unveiled at the swanky Ciao Ristorante and looks terrific already. So what exactly sets the MLE Gallardo apart from its standard counterpart? Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur chairman Chut Nyak Isham Nyak Ariff said that it was designed after popular demand.

He said customers wanted "a Gallardo that has the exciting exterior attributes of the Superleggera 570-4 but with the interior comforts of the standard Gallardo." That means, in essence, a Gallardo 570-4 Superleggera bodykit on top of the rear-wheel-drive Gallardo LP550-2. The Southeast Asian designers complied, with a Superleggera kit complete with an aggressive front bumper, carbon fiber side skirts and rear diffuser and titanium exhaust tips. The interior comes with leather and Alcantara in three color choices: Blanco Monocerus, Arancio Borealis, and the classic Ithaca Verde (that's white, orange and green, in simpler terms).

An 'MLE Limited Edition 20' plaque has also been added, right where the window sill meets the B-pillar. The Gallardo MLE features the LP550-2's V10 engine, rated at 550hp and 398 lb-ft of torque. It can sprint from rest to 62mph in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of almost 200mph. The Lamborghini Gallardo Malaysia Limited Edition was developed by Lamborghini S.p.A. and Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur. Each of the 20 units prices at RM 1,680,000 (about $554,000).
