With Lamborghini's 50th anniversary coming up in 2013, the Italian automaker is reportedly working on something unique to commemorate the very special occasion. According to some early reports, Lamborghini is planning a supercar to help celebrate the firm's founding in 1963. In previous milestone years, Lamborghini has released a 25th anniversary Countach and a 40th anniversary Murcielago.
However, before this car premieres, we'll be witnessing the launch of two other new supercars - the Aventador and the Sesto Elemento. It's common knowledge by now (I hope) that the Aventador is the Murcielago's replacement, but the Sesto Elemento...really?! Yes, it seems that due to the glowing reception (not to mention the excessive drooling) of the concept car at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, Lamborghini is looking to put the Sesto Elemento into limited production and will most likely be a track-only model.
No word yet on what the 50th anniversary car will be based on, but one idea we thought of is the updated version of the Miura concept seen back at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. No doubt it will be extremey rare and expensive and we're also betting only 50 will be built.
