2021 model also arrives with striking new color options.
We weren't expecting any updates for the 2021 Lamborghini Urus, but the Italian carmaker has surprised us with the unveiling of a new design edition of the high-performance SUV dubbed the 'Pearl Capsule'. Created by Lamborghini's Centro Stile design department, this is the first exclusive customization option for the Lamborghini Urus. Its striking two-tone exterior is available in high-gloss Giallo Inti, Arancio Borealis, or Verde Mantis, with a contrasting roof, rear diffuser, spoiler lip and other details finished in high gloss black. Matt grey tailpipes are complemented by 23-inch high-gloss black rims with accents matching the eye-catching body color.
Inside, the interior trim features a unique two-tone color combination featuring hexagon-shaped upholstery stitching with logo embroidery on the seats, along with carbon fiber and black anodized aluminum details. An optional fully-electric seat with perforated Alcantara is also available exclusively for the Pearl Capsule edition.
Along with new pearl colors in yellow, orange and green, a new metallic grey Grigio Keres finish has joined the color options list for the 2021 Lamborghini Urus, along with a range of matt colors in black, grey, blue and white available through Lamborghini's Ad Personam personalization program. "The Lamborghini Urus has attracted an extremely diverse clientele since its launch, with exceptionally varied lifestyles," said Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
"Nearly 80% of those customers, of which around 10% are women, are new to the Lamborghini brand, enjoying the versatility of their Urus whether for business, family outings or of course, leisure time where the luxury, emotive performance and either sporty or elegant nature of the Urus is so prescient. The colors preferred by owners has varied enormously, with a strong mix of more understated choices as well as traditional sporty Lamborghini colors."
Other improvements include a new key design and an updated optional Parking Assistance Package that includes an Intelligent Park Assist. Optional equipment includes a new premium Sensonum sound system, featuring a 730 W amplifier and 17 speakers. Driver assists that were previously available as an optional package now come as standard, including a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.
These updates come at a steep cost, however. In the US, pricing for the 2021 Lamborghini Urus starts at $218,009 - that's over $18,000 more expensive than the 2020 model. No upgrades have been applied to the powertrain, however, so the twin-turbo V8 that powers the 2021 Lamborghini Urus still generates 641 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. Just how expensive is the rumored hardcore road version of the Lamborghini Urus ST-X going to be?
