It is impossible to discuss the subject of the Land Rover Discovery Sport Launch Edition without mentioning the price, so we're going to get into that straight away. The base model of the new SUV comes in at $37,070, but a Launch Edition will set you back $48,975, with options doubtless sending it over the $50,000 mark. That's a pretty significant increase, but it is also largely irrelevant, as only the first 250 units of the vehicle will be made into Launch Editions.

For that money you'll get bright finish tread plates, brushed stainless steel pedals and aluminum shifter paddles. But the crown jewel is the monochrome Union Jack valve caps, which are nearly worth the almost $12k markup all by themselves. The engine remains the same, a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder making 240 horsepower and mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It seems like an awful lot of money for not much in the way of extras, but seeing as it would be difficult to get one even if you desperately wanted to, we won't get too worked up about it.
