It's time to leave planet earth.
Land Rover is best-known for building premium off-road machines that offer both supreme luxury and massive off-road capability. Few know that the manufacturer has a strange fascination with outer space, and works closely with the Virgin Galactic space program. Last year we covered a brilliant publicity stunt where a Land Rover Defender showed off its muscles by towing a Virgin Galactic spaceship. This follows the company's special Range Rover Astronaut Edition that was offered for sale only to those who signed up for the Virgin Galactic Future Astronaut program (at a cool $250,000). Now Land Rover is launching a new sweepstakes competition that will take one lucky winner on a spaceflight with Virgin Galactic.
Everyone knows that Land Rover owners are the most adventurous people on the face of the planet (because they like to tell you), so it would only make sense to send one lucky Land Rover lover to the next frontier: space.
Land Rover has launched a new web portal LandRoverAdventureofaLifetime.com, where brave souls can enter the sweepstakes competition for the chance to head off to outer space with Virgin Galactic. Land Rover recommends that entrants recruit their friends and families to form a "Space Team" and increase the chances of one team member going to outer space.
Hopeful astronauts can enter by completing certain actions on the website, ordering a Land Rover, booking a test drive and more. If you're not that interested in placing your life in the hands of a kooky space cowboy billionaire, Land Rover will also be giving away other prizes such as Land Rover experience days and cool merch. The competition is currently open, and entries will be taken until 20 June. The prize winner will be announced on August 15. If you really are a Land Rover fan, then you know full well that you only have one life, so live it.
