At this week's New York Auto Show, a new special edition variant of the Land Rover LR4 (read Discovery 4 in Europe) will make its world premiere. From this summer, the new LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition will be available in limited numbers worldwide and comes exclusively in a Santorini Black finish. A new exterior receives silver finishes on the full-length roof rails, door mirror caps, hood script, tailgate badge, grille surround and fender vents.

At the rear, there's a stainless-steel bumper tread strip and unique metal 'HSE Luxury' badge, while the special edition is completed with a set of 20-inch ten-spoke alloys. The interior boasts premium Ebony or Ivory leather and an extended Windsor Leather Pack on the fascia top, instrument panel binnacle, door top rolls, armrests and pull. Detailing in the cabin is completed by a new Dark Zebrano veneer and twist pile luxury carpet mats with contrasting edging. Standard upgrades to the Special Edition include an 825W 17-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system.

There's also Rear Screen Entertainment with 8-inch screens and wireless headphones, privacy glass and a front center console cooler box. In the UK, power comes from a 253hp SDV6 diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, with a 0-60mph time of 8.8 seconds and 112mph top speed. The Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE Luxury goes on sale in the UK in July with prices starting at £56,995 on the road. US pricing for the LR4 HSE Luxury Limited Edition have yet to be announced.
