Meet the ultra-exclusive Land Rover Range Rover SV Lansdowne Edition, a limited-run luxury SUV that aims to showcase that the SV Bespoke division can hang with the best that Bentley Mulliner and the like have to offer. Just 16 will ever be made at a price equal to more than $300,000. We've seen some expensive but classic Range Rovers in this sort of price bracket before, but this is a new car we're talking about. Then again, if you're trying to attract customers from the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Boutique, you need to provide a hitherto unseen level of shock and awe.

Unfortunately, if that price hasn't put you off and the pictures have turned you on, all we can provide are pictures - all 16 units are already sold out.

The Range Rover Lansdowne Edition was built to celebrate the opening of a newly refurbished showroom in Mayfair, London, and was developed by the Special Vehicle Operations division, which works on various products under the Jaguar Land Rover umbrella, including other SUVs. As the preceding sentence indicates, this special car will be for UK shores exclusively, where customers have paid £250,000 (just over $301,000 at the time of writing).

The exterior of the Range Rover Lansdowne Edition features a Lansdowne Grey Gloss paint job with a contrasting Corris Grey Gloss roof. The SUV rolls on a set of 23-inch forged wheels finished in Black Satin and Corris Grey Satin. Smaller touches to the outside include SV Anthracite and Graphite Atlas accents and unique metal script badging in black chrome crafted by Britain's oldest jeweler, Fattorini.

Enter the cabin, and you'll be greeted by illuminated tread plates with "SV Bespoke - Lansdowne Edition 1 of 1" lettering. The interior features rosewood and ebony aniline leather upholstery, with the seats boasting diagonal stitch embroidery for a more luxurious feel. Ebony mohair carpet mats with leather binding, satin black ceramic controls, and black anodized metal finishes also feature.

All of these special touches add up to an enticing proposition, but this is not the most expensive new Range Rover we've come across. At Monterey Car Week last year, JLR revealed the Range Rover SV Carmel Edition with a price tag of $345,000. Since so many people are willing to part with so much cash, JLR is finally in the black again. This increased popularity has necessitated increased production of models like the Defender too. Hopefully, quality will not suffer, or all those Bentley and Rolls-Royce customers will never look back again.
