Land Rover is certainly giving us hope for the future of off-roading. With an intention to launch a new Defender in 2015, Land Rover has now provided us with a clear picture as to where exactly the design of their famed and beloved SUV is headed. The Land Rover DC100, which is a modern interpretation of the iconic Defender, will have its official debut at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show.

According to Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's Director of Design: "Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenges in the automotive design world. This isn't a production-ready concept but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century." According to the automaker's official press release, the concept builds upon the essential elements of the car's character. For now, all we have is this image, but it's more than enough to give us great hope that Land Rover is on to something big here.
