These are perhaps the most revealing shots to date of the 2014 Range Rover Sport. Land Rover took out the new SUV with heavy camo, but aside from the overall shape, we can still see the new grille, headlights and bumper. The new Sport will hit the market a year after the standard Range Rover is unveiled, due to take place at the Paris Motor Show. Expect the Sport to share certain common features with its big brother, but expect it to be slightly wider with a lower, more sloping roof line.

Power will come from some new diesel and gasoline engines taken from sister-company Jaguar's parts bin, with the 510hp supercharged V8 used in the Jaguar XKR to be at the heart of the sportiest of Range Rover Sport models. Based on a new aluminum platform, the 2014 Range Rover Sport should be considerably lighter than the rather portly current model it replaces, perhaps by as much as 500kg. As a result, expect improved performance, handling, emissions and fuel economy.
