The Tesla Cybertruck is not only a phenomenon in and of itself, but it's also spurred the growth of a new hobby: homemade fake Cybertrucks. This has been happening from Russia to America to varying degrees of success. Given that the real Cybertruck isn't due to arrive until sometime in 2021, some people simply can't wait to get behind the wheel. And this latest fake Cybertruck is unlike any other. Presenting the CyberKart, built by professional racing driver brothers Jordan and Ricky Taylor.

But first things first: the CyberKart is not zero-emissions, but rather powered by a small two-stroke engine. It looks damn awesome. The build itself actually looks quite simple because it's not much more than some cardboard boxes duct-taped together with old wire shelving serving as a support frame. To give it the Cybertruck's distinct stainless-steel look, the brothers then wrapped their creation in aluminum foil and voila!

Given the ease the siblings had to design the CyberKart, does this mean Tesla's design team didn't go far enough? Despite its controversial looks, the Cybertruck is still really nothing more than a wedge-shaped design that's not overly complicated. But there's one thing we wouldn't suggest for anyone to do with the CyberKart: racing. You see, it's made out of cardboard and even in karting that could be dangerous. There's absolutely zero protection.

Still, this homemade toy does look like an awful lot of fun, evidenced by the video of Jordan taking it for a test drive around his house. This sudden surge in fake Cybertrucks is not likely to end anytime soon and nor do we want it to.

There's some real creativity going on here that we're sure even Tesla CEO Elon Musk appreciates. But if you want the real deal, it will only cost you (for now) a $100 refundable deposit. Will Musk make good on his promise to have the initial batch of Cybertruck deliveries ready in around a year's time? Given his track record, specifically with the Model 3, that's debatable. Eventually though, the guy always seems to come through.
