Dialing in on sports car perfection doesn't happen often, but the folks at Gunther Werks have gotten pretty close recently. The company known for reimagining the 993 Porsche 911 through a modern lens has produced some works of art, including a limited-edition Irish Green 993 Coupe and 25-unit limited set of Speedsters announced earlier this year. The first production 993 Speedster was shown wearing Peninsula Cypan paint paired with Mandarin Orange leather, and now we know what another example will look like.

Gunther Werks shared a rendering of an upcoming Speedster commission for a New York City customer who clearly loves reimagined Porsche projects because his Instagram profile mentions owning a Rod Emory Outlaw 356, Gunther Werks 993, and 957 Cayenne Safari.

"I can't wait to see my new Gunther Werks Speedster being built. The spec is almost there," Craig said on his Instagram account. "A few little tweaks and it will be ready. We (joint project with my brother) decided to go with Viola Metallic for the exterior. It's going to be amazing. The interior is a mix of Pepita from the 911 R, grey Alcantara, and grey leather with purple piping."

The specification for this upcoming 993 Speedster is simply sublime, and we couldn't make it any better if we tried. We wish the brothers good luck trying to improve the design because frankly, it seems perfect as-is. Of the Gunther Werks projects we've seen, this is our favorite.

Under that ducktail spoiler sits a 4.0-liter flat-six from Rothsport Racing producing 435 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. That's not an insane power figure by today's standards, but remember this engine is air-cooled and naturally aspirated. Oh, and it can rev to 7,800 rpm. There's no PDK here, as the Speedster sends its power rearward through a six-speed Getrag manual transmission.

With only 25 units set for production, we assume the brothers spent a pretty penny commissioning this car, certainly more than ordering a new 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera.
