We hope you're ready to do some overlanding in the new 2020 Land Rover Defender to the backdrop of Kurt Vile and the Violators.

The storied British SUV marque will serve as the presenting sponsor for a brand new music festival in Coachella Valley later this month, featuring an eclectic mix of artists, outdoor activities from rock climbing to fly-fishing, and a 15-acre off-road course.

The music festival is called 4xFAR, and it's scheduled to take place between Saturday, January 18th and Sunday, January 19th. This year marks the festival's first, and aside from sponsoring the event and hosting the off-road course, Land Rover will bring a selection of historic models for display.

Additional music artists are yet to be announced, but so far, 4xFAR has confirmed headliners Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals with Mark Ronson & Q-Tip, and electronic duo Sofi Tukker. The lineup further includes Young The Giant, Kurt Vile and the Violators, British-Japanese house music producer Maya Janes Coles, English songwriter Mahalia, the surf-rock band Tijuana Panthers, and the UK's Chappaqua Wrestling.

Daily panels and experiential classes are planned, too, with big wave surfer Laird Hamilton, olympic volleyball player Gabby Reece, muralist James Goldcrown, and Virgin Galactic space pilots all making an appearance.

Yes, the festival will feature actual, real-life space pilots.

Other activities at 4xFAR 2020 will include fly-fishing demos, a wilderness survival workshop, outdoor photography workshop, mountain biking, slacklining, yoga, climbing and bouldering, spirit and wine tastings, and more - you know, stuff your typical Land Rover owner is into. That's in addition to the aforementioned 15 acres of off-road trails, which will indeed feature the all-new 2020 Land Rover Defender. A whole fleet of them, in fact.

General admission to the inaugural 4xFAR festival is $95 per ticket for one day, or $185 to attend both days, with two-day VIP tickets priced at $349 per. The VIP experience includes complimentary merchandise, access to an elevated viewing area at the main stage, lounge and oasis access, and more.
