General Motors has been mulling the idea of rebadging several of the rides in their stable for quite some time now. The UAW are desperate for more work and it looks like they might be getting their wish with a Buick-badged Opel Astra GTC. This is good news for the United Auto Workers and those that have been pining for the three-door car to make its way to the States. LeftLaneNews has received even more information regarding the latest proposed production car to make its way across the pond.

The compact car could be built at GM's plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee. The plant was shut down the American company has promised to reopen it. A new Buick model could immediately create over 500 new jobs in the southern state. If they decide to go ahead with their plan, we could see a Buick version of the Astra GTC by as soon as 2013.
