The Sixties were a definite high point for Ferrari when it comes to sports car racing. It was the decade that gave birth to the 250 GTO, and a fierce rivalry with Shelby for dominance of the GT class at Le Mans. When Shelby’s Daytona race cars started outrunning the 250s, Ferrari brought out this car: the 275 GTB Competizione. The specific one you see here took home the GT class win in 1967 at Le Mans and went on to win more races.
Oh yeah, and it’s also gorgeous. It goes up for auction next month, so if you have whatever huge quantity of money it’s sure to go for, be sure to look into it.
