And so it goes; the death of the manual transmission, at least by Porsche. According to newly leaked details coming from Axis of Oversteer, the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 RS will produce a total of 500 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque from its new 4.0-liter flat-six engine. That's the good news. The bad news is clearly evident: the sole transmission will be Porsche's familiar 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox channeling all that power to the rear wheels. We will repeat: no manual will be offered here. Period.

Other leaked details reveal a wider body and track than that of the GT3, and a pair of 20/21-inch wheels front/rear. Other weight saving components include carbon-fiber reinforced hood and fenders and a magnesium alloy roof. Even the bucket seats are made of carbon fiber. Sales are set to begin in Europe next month, but we're expecting complete details from Porsche very soon.
