The Chevy Corvette C8's ability to offer supercar looks and performance for a fraction of the price of Italian exotics is probably the car's greatest achievement. Last month, the even more powerful Corvette Z06 was revealed with 670 horsepower from its 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated flat-plane crank V8 engine. At the time, we estimated that the Z06 would cost about $85,000. That would still represent remarkable value considering the performance on offer. Well, it turns out that we weren't far off because the HorsePower Obsessed channel on YouTube has announced pricing for the new Z06, allegedly obtained from contacts at two dealerships.

According to this channel, the new 2023 Corvette Z06 has a base starting price of $87,000. That's before you dig into the extensive options menu. If Chevy confirms this to be the starting price, we expect the waiting list to grow even longer than it already is. Comparing the pricing structure with the C7, the $87k number seems totally accurate as there was a similar price gap between the previous Z06 and the new one.

Other than the base price, the C7 Z06 could also provide some clues about the C8 Z06's package prices. In the video, it is estimated that a fully loaded model will come to around $130,000 with extras like competition seats, carbon fiber trim, the Z07 package, and carbon fiber wheels.

Nevertheless, the base $87k price underlines what a fantastic offering the Z06 is. The V8 produces 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and will allow the Z06 to get to 60 mph in only 2.6 seconds when properly equipped. To put that into perspective, the base Porsche 911 Carrera starts at over $100k, is almost 300 hp down on power, and is over a second slower to 60 mph. Even at around $100k with a few options added, the Z06 is a comparative bargain. Chevy has yet to officially confirm these prices but all signs point towards the Z06 being a sub-$90k supercar.
