Mercedes-Benz's transformation into an EV company is moving at lightning speed, and its electric lineup already includes impressive offerings such as the EQA SUV, and EQS Sedan, with many others, including the EQG and EQS SUV getting ready for launch. Mercedes-Benz is betting big on electric SUVs, and the EQS SUV is set to be the brand's flagship model. Back in March, we got a glimpse of this premium SUV's interior and last week Mercedes-Benz finally teased the new car before an imminent reveal. The shadowy teaser didn't give a lot away, but fear not, the internet has delivered leaked images of the new flagship.

The EQS SUV will be officially revealed on 19 April, but as is so often the case, some eager beaver has snapped the car before the public is supposed to see it. The EQS SUV clearly shares its EQ design elements with the rest of the range, which means curvy body panels, a large black faux grille with wraparound daytime running lights, and a full-width rear lighting system. With a total length of 203 inches, the EQS SUV is slightly shorter, and lower, than its ICE counterpart, the GLS SUV. One thing is for certain: Mercedes-Benz's EQ vehicles are much more shapely than their gas-powered siblings.

We already know that the EQS SUV's interior will feature the MBUX 56-inch Hyperscreen, which blends the digital gauge cluster, center control screen, and passenger screen into one seamless piece of curved glass. Familiar touches include those elegant Mercedes dial vents and multi-color ambient lighting. Press images also show off a set of 11.6-inch displays integrated into the backrests of the front seats, a rear folding armrest with a wireless phone charging pad, and an MBUX tablet. The EQS SUV will feature a 180 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor AWD setup, and the top-of-the-line EQS580 will churn out over 500 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque. We expect to see both an AMG and Maybach version of the EQS SUV to follow after the official launch, and the smaller EQE will also get its own SUV counterpart. The EQS SUV will be manufactured at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
