Porsche may be making some drastic changes throughout its entire lineup, but it still remembers its true diehard fans. This Porsche 911 R is the car that enthusiasts have been dreaming of. The supercar is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this week, but it looks like some pictures of the vehicle have leaked onto the Internet early. While we had high hopes for the 911 R, it looks like the car will be even better than we thought. Coming as a manual only and with a more powerful engine, this may be the best sports car of 2016.

From the outside, it's easy to see that the 911 R shares a lot of the same bodywork with the track-focused 911 GT3 RS. Both cars have the same roof and hood, which means that weight has been kept down to a minimum. Just as promised, the new 911 only comes with a manual gearbox that Vierenzestig.nl says is paired to the 4.0-liter flat-six from the 911 GT3 RS. That motor should be good for 493 hp and will emit an insanely glorious sound as it revs all the way to 8,800 rpm. Rumors originally stated that the 911 R would come with a 3.8-liter engine, so we will have to wait until the official debut to see if it really comes with the glorious 4.0-liter engine.

Since automakers aren't making cars like the 911 R anymore, these things will surely sell out in the blink of an eye. Reportedly, 918 buyers will have first dibs on getting into a 911 R, which means that very few vehicles may make it into the hands of owners that don't have the hybrid hypercar. We won't have to wait too long to see the supercar in the flesh.
