We tend to agree with what the Baywatch star is reading from the script.
Porsche has found favor with a broad spectrum of star power. From racing legend Ken Block, top Hollywood actors like Jerry Seinfeld, famous people seem to love Porsche sports cars, and the latest Hollywood celebrity to throw her name behind the brand is none other than starlet Alexandra Daddario. The 35 year old actress, best known for her roles in movies like Hall Pass, Baywatch and series such as True Detective has been spotted in a Porsche commercial where she explains why the Porsche 911 is such an amazing car. We totally agree with her, but we don't think that we actually understand her connection to the brand as she reads off the teleprompter.
In the minute-long YouTube video posted by Porsche, Daddario becomes one of the biggest Porsche hype women ever. "Every Porsche has the soul of a sports car" she says at the start of the video. She then goes on to venerate the Porsche 911, which is shown racing on track, on dirt, and on the street. "The 911. Perfected since 1963" she continues. She then goes on to compare the 911's acceleration to that of a rocket ship, and its cornering abilities to that of a fighter jet. After singing the 911's praises, Daddario then shifts her attention to the Cayman and Boxster. " Like their big brother, they're lightweight and fun, and inspired by racing. Does that make them perfect? I think so." she concludes.
Daddario seems to know a bit about Porsche's sports car lineup, and although she seems to be a decent car collector in real life, she doesn't seem to own a P-Car. In a story posted by AutoBizz in May of 2021, the publication claims that Daddario owns a: Jaguar XJ, a Range Rover SV, a Mercedes-AMG G63, and a Mercedes-Benz CLS. None of these cars are boring, but none come close to the Porsche 911 in terms of on-track ability she is trying to convince us she believes. Might we suggest that Porsche get her behind the wheel of a 911 to thrash on track so that her next YouTube product promo video feels a bit more genuine. But that's Hollywood for you.
