Only 19 of each will be built.
Mercedes is marking its 2014 F1 World Championship with a couple of special edition SLG AMG models that have been developed with help from 2014 world champion Lewis Hamilton and runner-up Nico Rosberg. Dubbed the World Championship 2014 Collector’s Edition, just 19 units of each will be made, representing the number of races held during the season.
Hamilton’s black with gold trim SL63 features the name and layout of the British driver’s home circuit, Silverstone, while Rosberg’s white with silver trim features Hockenheim on a special badge, key fob and floor carpets. Each car will be individually numbered, while Rosberg’s car also includes his signature on the dash. Power comes from the stock model’s 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 585 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed auto and limited-slip differential. The cars were presented at the Stars & Cars event in Stuttgart, Germany, over the weekend, where Hamilton and Rosberg put on a show with other current and former drivers, exciting the 50,000-strong audience.
