Lexus is attempting to conquer the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb with their bright orange IS F CCS-R racer. The racing-spec IS F features a stripped interior and powerful motor along with some race-specific parts that they believe will make it a competitive model on the Coloradan mountain. The Pikes Peak track rises 4,720ft and measures a length of almost 12.5 miles, and Lexus believes their new racer will compete quite well in the event. It packs a 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 416hp and 371 lb-ft of torque.

It is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels via a LSD. The stripped-out IS F CCS-R weighs in at 3,087lbs thanks to weight savings measures such as a carbon fiber dashboard, front fender, front and rear spoilers and lightweight bucket seats. The changes save a whopping 693lbs from its standard counterpart. The Lexus IS F CCS-R racer has been finished in orange mica and rides on a set of lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA A050 rubbers. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb runs on July 8th.
