Lexus, the luxury arm of industry giant Toyota, is well known for building beautifully refined vehicles that prefer to numb, rather than tingle the senses. Sure, the brand has delivered some impressive sports cars in the past, including the magnificent Lexus LFA with its razor-sharp V10 engine, and the brand is getting ready to unleash its high-performance F Brand with the assistance of the IS 500 F Sport Performance, but that's it. Lexus Japan seems to have a quick fix for this issue: it just announced the F-Sport Mode Black S and F Sport Mode Glitter for the IS300 and IS350 range. These two new trim levels promise an improved driving experience, and go on sale in Japan in October.

The new F Sport Mode Black S is the natural successor to the JDM F Sport Mode Black and is based on the IS 350, IS 300h, or IS 300 F-Sport. This special model features forged lightweight aluminum wheels developed in collaboration with BBS and exterior styling details such as black-painted door mirrors and black stainless steel window moldings. The interior of the F Sport Mode Black S features ultra suede sports seats, an F Sport eight-inch TFT LCD meter, rear seat SRS side airbags, and driver's seat memory. The top of the range IS 350 F Sport Mode Black will set you back $63,987 in Japan.

The stylish F Sport Mode Glitter is a flashy little number that features 19-inch aluminum wheels with Black sputtering coating, auto-retractable black mirrors, and black window frames. On the inside, this glamorous trim adds special Ash Wood trim, ventilated front sport seats with Black and Flare Red inserts and driver's side memory, and rear SRS side airbags. The Glitter sells for $62,158. The Lexus IS 350 F Sport is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft and will sprint to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds in RWD guise, but these cars should be more fun to look at and enjoy on curvy mountain roads than in a straight line.
