Thanks to Tom's Racing.
In response to heated competition in the luxury sedan segment by the likes of BMW, Genesis, and Mercedes, Lexus gave the aging IS sedan a much-needed update for the 2021 model year. Although it's not an all-new model, the changes are comprehensive.
The exterior looks fresher, the handling is sharper, and the interior is more technologically advanced and luxurious. For extra presence, F-Sport variants ride on dark metallic 19-inch wheels and can be fitted with a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, but if you want to stand out from the crowd, Japanese tuner Tom's Racing is giving the underrated luxury sedan some love with new performance parts that spruce up the styling and improve the performance.
Available for the Lexus IS F Sport, Tom's Racing's new body kit adds a front splitter, new side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The tuner also offers a trunk lid spoiler and lightweight 19-inch alloys. To improve the handling, a coilover suspension kit and front and rear strut bars are also available, while chassis and suspension braces offer a smoother ride.
As for performance upgrades, Tom's Racing's available Barrel exhaust and Power Box adds an extra 20 horses to the IS F Sport's 3.5-liter V6, bringing the total output to 331 horsepower.
In Japan, Tom's Racing's Lexus IS upgrades will be available this month. The suspension kit retails for JPY 363,000 ($3,182), while the complete kit will cost nearly JPY 1,000,000 ($8,745).
If you want more grunt, Lexus also offers the IS F Sport Performance in America. Slotting above the F Sport and below the new long-awaited hardcore IS F, the F Sport Performance swaps the V6 for a punchier 5.0-liter V8 producing 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque. That's enough power for the F Sport Performance to sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. In the US, pricing for the IS Performance Edition starts at $56,500.
