Lexus LC 500 Upgraded With New TRD Parts

JDM / Comments

New aero parts give the Lexus a sexy new look.

The Lexus LC 500 is absolutely beautiful. Regardless of how it drives, or how fast it gets from 0-60 mph, the styling that was based off the iconic Lexus LFA supercar has remained achingly gorgeous and has stood the test of time with grace. It's arguably the best-looking car in the current Lexus lineup, and in that regard, it's bigger brother, the RC F, can't compete. Even a timeless design like that of the Porsche 911 looks dated next to the LC 500, but what if you want to set your car apart from all the others? Well, TRD has an OEM solution.

Now before you get too excited, these parts are only available in Japan - at least for the time being. Nevertheless, they're so distinctive and detailed that we can't help but hope they do make their way over here. A gloss black front splitter and similar side skirts have been added to the offerings for the car and both claim to improve aerodynamic efficiency. These are joined by a new rear diffuser and a relatively subtle trunk-lid spoiler. Even new wing mirrors are offered, with the same aerodynamic claims. However, the most striking parts are more obvious to bystanders. First up is a cowling that sits above the rear seats, further detracting from the practicality of the car but adding a speedster-like look.

It's the last body part that we can't quite make our minds up on, however. This is a floating carbon fiber wing that looks not dissimilar from the huge picnic table found on the McLaren Senna. While we have little doubt that this will indeed improve downforce, and while it's not as large as the Senna's, it is a little overt. The aerodynamic aids are also joined by two different wheel designs in three finishes: Diamond Gray Metallic, Ice Black, and Lunanium Gun Metallic. What do you think? Is it too much? Is it just right for the manga looks of the car? Either way, the add-ons are sure to be popular.
