Lexus LF-CC Concept Debuts in Paris

Concepts / 29 Comments

Lexus has revealed the future of the IS with a striking show car in Paris.

Last week Lexus revealed the first shots of the new LF-CC, and today the concept made its live debut at the Paris Motor Show. Previewing the future of the Japanese automaker's D-segment lineup, the luxury coupe embodies the latest evolution of the company's "L-Finesse" styling language. The LF-CC Concept is set to inspire the 2014 IS sedan and convertible, a key product for Lexus, competing with the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Audi A3 and Infiniti G37.

The IS, when it arrives, is poised to adopt the LF-CC concept's aggressive "spindle" grille, organic curves and aggressive lights front and rear. As with many show cars unveiled in Paris this year, the LF-CC also adopts an eco-friendly powertrain.

Underneath the long bonnet sits a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which adopts the Atkinson cycle and direct injection and is augmented by an electric motor for a hybrid setup which Lexus and parent-company Toyota have championed from the outset. The interior features some concept-only elements, but as far as show cars go, looks surpringly close to production-ready. The low seating position is nestled into a driver-focused cockpit along with high-visibility instrument dials and a thick steering rim. (Live photos courtesy of OmniAuto.)
