In the most recent episode of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson let slip an interesting piece of information while testing the new Ferrari F12. He said the Stig considered it "the only car in the world that could hold a candle to the Lexus LFA." Top Gear hasn't exactly been shy about praising the LFA, but previous appearances on the show have stopped well short of calling it the best car in the world, although this might be in part because we don't hear the Stig speak.

Interestingly, this seems to be an opinion held by Clarkson himself as well. In a piece for Top Gear magazine earlier this year, Clarkson said in no uncertain terms that he believed the LFA to be the best car in the world, despite the astronomical price tag. Now, Clarkson says things like this all the time, but it's rare to hear the same from the Stig, and this is what has people paying attention.
