Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition Makes Premier Delivery in Europe

Nurburgring / Comments

The Japanese supercar has made its way to Europe at long last.

The Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition has indeed been delivered to a very lucky customer in the UK. The Japanese supercar is already in the hands of a select few in the U.S. and this particular orange model is the second we have seen in this color of the special editions. A black variant and white variant have also been spotted previously. A limited run of 50 Nurburgring Edition units will be built (side note: only 500 standard LFAs will be produced), each packing the stock's 4.8-liter V10 tuned for an extra 11hp.

That brings total output to 562hp. The extra power comes in addition to aerodynamic styling changes, new tires and a modified tranny and suspension set-up for maximum track performance. Performance numbers are quite impressive, with 0-62mph timed at a rapid 3.7 seconds and top speed quoted as 202mph. The changes have allowed the LFA Nurburgring to lap the famed German track in an impressive time of only 7:14.64. That is good for a fifth all-time on the Nordschleife, beating such impressive models as the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the Corvette C6 ZR1, amongst others.

Lexus is throwing in a year-long subscription to the Nurburgring race track in Germany along with a free driving course to those who purchase the LFA Nurburgring Edition, not too shabby for those with a cool $445,000 lying around.
