Thanks to a new body kit, made in Japan.
The Lexus LS has made a name for itself as one of the most luxurious Japanese sedans on the market. Not only does this car pamper its owners, they're also massively reliable. But if there's one thing missing from this capable cruiser, it's attitude. The fifth-generation LS has been around for almost five years and has recently seen a series of mid-life updates to keep it on point for the foreseeable future. While the refreshed car gets some exterior tweaks such as reworked headlights and a sharper front bumper, you still can't call it aggressive. Modellista, a tuner working out of Japan, plans to change that with its new body kit specially designed for the LS.
Modellista is well known for designing body kits for Toyota and Lexus cars and knows just how to nail the OEM plus look without making the cars seem overly modified. For the LS, Modellista kept things clean by adding subtle touches to the front, side, and rear of the car. A virtual 3D model on the company's website gives prospective clients a better look at what the kit looks like on the car. Modellista offers a subtle front spoiler, side skirts, a rear skirt and a choice of two 21-inch wheel designs. The paint colors on offer are limited to three shades namely Sonic Quartz, Black, and Graphite Black Glass Flake. With so much chrome included in the body kit, it would be advisable to go for one of the darker colors.
Modellista manages to seamlessly incorporate its kit into an already aggressive exterior design, and its wheel options definitely compliment the car as a whole. The Lexus LS has been doing battle with the likes of the BMW 7 Series for years, and now has to face the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class in the battle for full-size luxury sedan dominance. Under the hood of the LS lies a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. With a starting price of $75,450 the LS is no entry-level car, but it can still do with some styling guidance. We don't expect the Modellista kit to be made available in the US any time soon, but never say never.
