Production model will start at 30,000 pounds; drop "LF" from nameplate.
Lexus’ new crossover SUV, shown again as the LF-NX Concept at Detroit last month, is becoming more of a reality with UK pricingand specs just released. Dropping the 'LF' from its nameplate, the NX will arrive inthe United Kingdom by October of this year, with base prices of just under 30,000 pounds, although this has yet to be confirmed by Lexus. The entry-levelmodel will be the NX 300h, with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine joining anelectric motor for a total output of 178 horsepower.
While the toned-down design is still reminiscent of the Detroitconcept, the outrageous spindle grille has been replaced by a lesscontroversial rendition. Headlights should mimic those of the Lexus RC coupe andthe IS. Carried over from the concept are the aggressive side sills andrear-wheel arches. Later into production, the 300h hybrid should be joined by afuel-only four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, which will be called the NX200t F Sport. This upgraded model should offer approximately 240 horsepower. Additional modelsmay be offered further down the line. Stay tuned for updates prior to the USlaunch.
