For those who remember, the first-generation Lexus IS sedan that debuted back in 1998 was joined by a wagon variant called the SportCross in 2002. This luxury sport wagon didn't sell well in the US but it was appreciated by wagon fans. But the SportCross was discontinued when the second-gen IS sedan came to market in 2006. Now that an all-new, third-gen IS is about to debut at Detroit, Lexus is now strongly hinting via its Facebook page that a new wagon/hatchback variant could soon be on the horizon.

A few days ago Lexus stated the following on its Facebook page: "Do you remember the '02 IS 300 Sport Cross with its style, utility and performance? Will we bring it back? Watch the 2014 IS premiere on Facebook in 6 days to find out!" We'll bring the latest details once they're available.
