Lexus RC Comes with Exclusive Red Paint Job

Tuning

All-new model deserves an all-new paint job.

Having been unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus is ready to introduce its all-new coupe to the US at next month’s Detroit Motor Show alongside the RC F performance variant. And when it does, the gorgeous two-door will be wearing an exclusive luminous red paint job made up of four base coats that are baked twice. The process begins with a silver base coat, followed by a clear coat, a translucent red coat and finished with an additional clear coat.

Two bakes later and the final color glimmers in both red and silver depending on the light, adding depth and a metallic highlight to the red coloration. Buyers will be able to choose the new color when the car goes on sale next year.
