Liberty Electric Cars has just announced they've signed a memorandum of understanding with Northern Lights Energy (NLE), an Icelandic company, for the firm's largest order to date. What is Liberty Electric Cars? As the name suggests, they're a clean technology company based in Oxford, UK that designs, engineers, and manufactures EV technology for worldwide markets.

Their flagship vehicle, the Liberty E-Range is the world's first pure electric 4x4 and even has a supposed range of 200 miles with its 75 kWh lithium polymer battery. Based on the Range Rover and it can hit 60 mph in about seven seconds and has a top speed of 100 mph. The deal with NLE calls for them buying 150 vehicles over the next four years which will be sold to companies, governments, and private owners across Iceland and Scandinavia. All told, the deal is worth about $39 million. However, the Liberty E-Range doesn't come cheap, as it has a base price of $261,000 per car.
