Ever since the Nissan GT-R first saw the light of day fourteen years ago, power-hungry owners and tuners have spent countless hours and many more dollars in the search for more performance. It's not that the stock 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 is lacking in excitement - far from it, in fact. The 600 horsepower is more than enough to propel the supercar slayer to 60 mph in around 2.7 seconds.

But, amazingly, the powerful motor has plenty more potential and, in the right hands, it can be extracted to create something truly incredible. The menacing example you see before you certainly has presence, wearing a Liberty Walk wide body kit and gorgeous, 20-inch gold-painted Forgiato alloy wheels.

But it is what's underneath that has piqued our interest. Atlanta-based Road Show International shared some details of the GT-R, and the performance figures are astonishing.

A whopping 1,580 hp and 1,092 lb-ft of torque give this beast motivation to sprint to 62 mph in two seconds flat, before topping out a heady 205 mph.

The mesmerizing acceleration is courtesy of a flotilla of enhancements that are part of the RS Stage III Performance Package. This includes custom pistons, a turbo upgrade, and numerous upgrades to various key components, including the head gasket, exhaust, intercooler, intakes, and injectors, along with several other items. But it's not all about straight-line performance, with the tuner noting the GT-R Stage III also receives coil-over suspension and a reworked rear differential.

Equally as mad as the internal hardware is the exterior styling. Finished in a rather attractive shade of blue known as Humble Satin Metallic, the hue pairs nicely with the gold wheels and trim pieces.

The kit provides plenty of aggression to the overall package, with extended wheel arches lending the GT-R an arresting presence. The canards sited on the front bumper may not be to everyone's taste, but give the Nissan a Group GT3 charm. Outlandish it certainly may be, but it's positively demure compared to some of Liberty Walk's other creations.

Rather fittingly, graphics depicting Godzilla attacking Tokyo are emblazoned on the side of the GT-R, a tribute to the nickname first given to the legendary R32 Skyline GT-R. Inside, it's business as usual. The unremarkable cabin is, at least, livened up by the gold-painted roll cage, a color theme also found on the intercooler and various bits of the decals.

With the astounding performance on offer, we'd like to see this example go up against the 2,000 hp GT-R which gave Ken Block a thrashing.

While not much is known about the R35's replacement, Nissan Australia's MD has hinted that Godzilla will live on for another generation. Reportedly, it will gain hybrid technology in an attempt to appease environmental concerns (and boost performance) but while the Japanese brand remains tight-lipped on the subject, it is expected that the new model will retain the outgoing R35 platform. Until then, we can still enjoy the crazy-powerful GT-Rs that run the streets hunting for expensive exotica.
