Meet the ultimate F87 BMW M2.
BMW has been churning out some excellent performance vehicles in recent months, including the mighty BMW M5 CS and the new M4 and M3, but there are many who are still firmly in love with the nimble and fierce F87 BMW M2. The next-generation M2 has already been spied getting sideways in the snow, but some aftermarket tuners have kept themselves busy honing the F87 chassis and famed turbocharged inline-six engine. Expert BMW tuners Lightweight Performance is now saying farewell to the F87 with a 'final edition' car that packs serious power, improved handling, and reduced curb weight, and we have to admit, the final result is rather astonishing.
Lightweight Performance has years of experience with this platform, and the Final Edition is the lovechild of almost five years of development. This special edition car is based on a 2020 BMW M2 Competition and produces a massive 730 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque thanks to some extensive hardware tuning, including a HJS 2×200 Zeller downpipe, a custom exhaust, and some other undisclosed bits (we suspect a serious turbocharger upgrade). The chassis has been treated to an Eibach Pro Street Multi suspension system and a BMW M Performance brake system with a Lightweight brake cooling kit and steel braided brake lines. The car rolls on a set of 19-inch Titan 7 forged wheels.
The Final Edition also sports a host of carbon fiber parts, including a carbon roof, front spoiler, rear spoiler, diffuser, and fenders. The interior features an interesting seat layout: rear passengers get their own single seats based on the standard M2 CS seats, and are finished in leather and Alcantara. The door panels and center console are finished in carbon fiber. A short shifter kit and blue anodized pedals finish off the cabin.
A new M2 might be incoming, but this M2 currently reigns supreme.
