The Audi R8 is a special supercar. It has a Lamborghini-sourced 5.2-liter V10 yet is still something of a blue-collar hero, being the first supercar from a relatively accessible brand like Audi. It has been celebrated many times over the years and has even been offered in RWD guise to add more excitement to the mix, much the Huracan Evo RWD. However, it seems that its time with us is drawing to a close, and to celebrate (and make a few extra bucks) Audi is offering a limited edition with R8 V10 Performance parts. Just 30 examples will be created.

The special model will be available as either a coupe or in Spyder flavor, but it's the hardtop that gets more choice. The coupe can be painted in Mugello Blue, Avus Silver, or Sonoma Green, while the drop-top can only be had in Mugello Blue.

15 Mugello Blue coupes with pastel silver interiors will be built, along with five in Avus silver with black leather and red stitching, and five in Sonoma Green with black leather and gray stitching. The convertible will feature a pastel silver interior too, while all models will feature inque floor mats and, for the first time in the US, the wheels will be finished in silver.

Features that were formerly exclusive to performance models and that will be on display on these special editions include a carbon fiber front sway bar and a sport exhaust system. To set the model apart, it will feature aluminum-look mirror caps, carbon side blades, and red brake calipers. Meanwhile, the interior of each will bear carbon fiber accents while coupes will also boast a diamond-stitched Alcantara headliner.

The coupe will go on sale in the summer with an asking price of $186,000 while the Spyder will cost $195,900. That's pricey for an R8 but considering how beloved this car is we don't expect any to go unsold.
