Years ago there was news circulating about a possible Mini and Rolls-Royce collaboration. Now this has come true and the automakers have revealed the Rolls-Royce flavored Mini as a special edition model for the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. The vehicle will run in a limited production and will be called "Mini Inspired by Goodwood", with the name paying tribute to Rolls-Royce's headquarters.
Furthermore, only 1,000 units of the special Mini will be built at the Oxford plant, with first deliveries expected to take place in 2012. The Mini is offered as a three-door hatchback and was based on the Cooper S model. It comes equipped with a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine that produces 184-horses and 177 lb-ft of torque. Inside, the interior is where Rolls-Royce spent most of its efforts in designing the perfect cabin.
Almost everything inside the cabin boasts the exclusive Rolls-Royce color Cornsilk. The dash and door handles sport Walnut Burr veneers. Pricing details won't be released until a later date, but it's expected that the Rolls-inspired Mini will be priced way over the premium for a standard Mini Cooper S.
