The new Lincoln Navigator has been named the 2018 North American Truck of the year, beating the Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Expedition in the process. This marks the first time that the American carmaker has won the award. Kumar Galhotra, president of the Lincoln Motor Company said, "Lincoln is honoured to be named the best among such a strong field of competitors. The entire Lincoln team is very proud of the work that was done to create a truly differentiated, luxury Lincoln experience in our all-new Navigator."

The Navigator is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine producing 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels or all four wheels. The car also has a towing capability of up to 8,700 pounds. The SUV comes equipped with a head-up display, a 10-inch screen for the infotainment system, park assist, a lane departure warning system, a 360-degree camera, blindspot information with cross traffic alert, a 14-speaker audio system, and a new drive mode technology that allows the driver to change the vehicle settings. The spacious and luxurious interior also has ten power outlets for eight passengers.

The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year awards recognises innovation, design, safety features, performance, technology, driver satisfaction and value. It is judged by 60 professional automotive journalists from the United States and Canada. The Lincoln Navigator starts at $72,055.
