Porsche finally joined the lucrative crossover coupe craze with the launch of the Cayenne Coupe last year. With its sporty styling and potent performance, the Porsche Cayenne Coupe is a worthy rival to the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe. Recently, however, spy photos have shown that Porsche is cooking up an even hotter version rumored to be called the Cayenne Coupe GT.

Our spies have once again caught a prototype undergoing testing, only this time they managed to capture it on video. The Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT was spied parked up, allowing our spy photographers to get a closer look at the new hardcore coupe SUV.

The driver then pulls away and drives the Cayenne Coupe GT around some snowy roads, where we get to hear its aggressive exhaust note in all its glory. Whereas the regular Cayenne Coupe has a quad exhaust system, the hardcore GT version has a centrally mounted exhaust with two oval-shaped tailpipes, which are now fully visible.

We still don't know if the hardcore Porsche Cayenne Coupe GT will have any extra power to play with, however. As standard, the Cayenne Coupe is powered by 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that pumps out 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, while the range-topping Cayenne Turbo Coupe has a twin-turbo V8 that produces 541 hp.

To compete with the BMW X6 M, the hardcore Cayenne Coupe GT would need to have at least 567 horsepower. Porsche is also reportedly working on a new hardcore Panamera codenamed the "Lion" that could pack as much as 820 hp, so this setup could potentially be carried over to the Cayenne Coupe.

Alternatively, Porsche could simply offer the new exhaust as an option to give the current Cayenne Coupe a sportier soundtrack, but we'll have to wait for an official announcement to know for sure.
