This is going to be raucous.
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 is a wildly impressive sports car in stock form, but there are plenty of tuners who think that the C8 is far from perfect and could use upgrading. Some have decided to lower it on air suspension and slap on a widebody kit, others offer upgrades to the exhaust system, while some of the truly crazy will strap a pair of turbos to the engine for mesmerizing acceleration. But what about supercharging a C8? Well, it's now been done, and it sounds glorious.
The company responsible is the prolific brand ProCharger superchargers, and as you can tell from the video above, the results sound amazing. But what about performance? Well, this is just a teaser for now, but ProCharger says that this kit will boost the C8 from around 490 horsepower to over 700 hp. We don't have detailed specs to drool over as yet, but the sound alone seems to make this a great option. We'll also have to wait for details on what the kit includes, but we do know that it will be bolt-on, run on pump gas, and be intercooled.
Pricing and availability for the supercharger kit have yet to be announced, but we think that the whine of a supercharger sounds fantastic and we can't wait to experience more of this Corvette with that howl. But if you think that cars should be left as stock as the day they rolled off the production line, perhaps you'd be willing to wait a few years for the ultimate Corvette. Dubbed the Zora, this will have over 1,000 hp from the factory. Whatever your preference, we're glad to see that the limits of the C8 are being fully explored.
