Lyonheart Cars have announced prices for its coupe and convertible sports cars, which are now ready to order.
When the aluminum-bodied, Jaguar E-Type-inspired Lyonheart K was revealed to the world in February of last year, the British boutique carmaker was immediately inundated with requests to put it into production. It wasn’t long before a decision was made for the all-new luxury sportscar to enter a limited edition run of 250 cars. "No More. No Less," as the Coventry-based automaker puts it. Production will take place between this December and the summer of 2015.
High demand is dictating a delivery time of between 18 and 24 months for a Lyonheart K, depending on specs and body type. The Coupe is priced at 360,000 Euros and the Convertible comes in at 375,000 Euros. Based on a Jaguar XKR, the styling is an evolution of the 2011 Growler E Concept - a collaborative effort between Bo Zolland and Robert Palm that paid tribute to the E-Type on its 50th anniversary - with an all-aluminum chassis and power coming from a Cosworth-tuned 5.0-liter supercharged V8. 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque driving through a a six-speed translate to a 3.9-second 0-62 time and a 186 mph top speed.
Styling cues from the E-Type are evident in the black matrix oval grille, 20-inch wire wheels, and a front-hinged clamshell hood flanked by twin louvres. The convertible gets an electrically-operated roof that can be raised or lowered in 12 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph. Inside, the thin wooden steering wheel, instruments and gauges mimics the layout and looks of E-Type, with owners given an array of customization options to create a bespoke cabin made of wood, leather, stainless steel and aluminum. Modern touches includes a retractable 7-inch color touchscreen with sat-nav and a Bowers and Wilkins audio system.
