Revealed package adds some flair to BMW’s least interesting model.
Ever since it was first introduced in concept form and particularly, after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer has failed to excite us very much. With front-wheel drive, Kia-reminiscent design and the open question of how to classify it (wagon? crossover? mini-minivan? monster hatchback?) we just couldn't seem to care about the other pressing question – will it eventually be imported to the United States?
Now, BMW has revealed an M Sport package for the new Active Tourer. With more aggressive styling, the Tourer receives an aerodynamic body kit, lowered, sport-tuned suspension, high-gloss black grille and 17-18-inch wheels. The interior gets upgraded with M-branded door plates, sports seats with new upholstery, anthracite roof-liner and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Are we excited now?
