Last year, Ford announced the reintroduction of the Ranger Splash Package and Splash Limited Edition models featuring one-time-only colors to be introduced every few months. Three new editions have now been introduced; the Snow, Forest, and Sand Editions.

Last year's model, finished in a striking Orange color scheme with black decals, boasted unique matte black 18-inch wheels and a stylish interior that continued the orange and black theme. The unique trim package is a throwback to the '90s Ranger, which Ford offered with the retro package.

The first of the trio, available in spring this year, is the Snow Edition. Available for a limited run of 750 units, the special edition wears Avalanche exterior paint which is further enhanced by Avalanche grille inserts. The Snow Edition will be based on the Lariat trim that comes with luxuries such as heated seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and door panels.

Arriving in the summer is the Forest Edition. Classy Forged Green paintwork is livened up by red grille nostrils and Magnetic accents. The interior features the same treatment as the Snow Edition, with Ash Gray stitching and the like. Just 500 vehicles will be produced.

Lastly, the Sand Edition will be painted in a fetching Desert Sand color with red grille nostrils. Like the Forest Edition, this desert-inspired derivative will be limited to just 500 examples and arrive this fall. All three feature Magnetic exterior accents while inside, the leather-trimmed seats gain Ash Gray stitching, replete with carbon weave stripes and bolsters. Black interior accents spruce up the rest of the interior. Forest and Sand Edition derivatives will be based on the mid-spec XLT trim level.

The Splash Package is a standalone option, separate from the Limited Edition Splash models, priced at $1,495 MSRP.

With the next-generation Ford Ranger already unveiled, the Splash Edition models may serve as the last few limited models before making way for the new model, which is scheduled to enter US production in 2023.
