If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we're worried about BMW's eyesight.

The latest design trend at the premium Bavarian brand appears to be maximizing the real estate consumed by its grilles, with all of its latest vehicles dropping the classic, traditional "double kidney" grille design in favor of something that might more accurately be compared to gigantic buck teeth.

Now, Romanian tuning outfit KITT Tuning is relying on there being a large enough audience in favor of BMW's new look that it can sell this: a kit for making your F30-generation BMW 3-Series or 4-Series look just like the company's more recent models.

The custom front fascia was specifically modeled after the one appearing on the new G82 BMW M4 Competition, enormous buck-tooth grilles and all. It's quite the convincing impression, with the same angular face, five-sided lower grilles, and vertical side inlets as on the M4 Competition, although there's no getting around the differences in the two cars' headlamp shapes. Still, spray those grille slats gloss black and you might just fool a few onlookers.

Of course, it would be much harder to make up for the performance deficit; the new M4 Competition is endowed with a 503-horsepower version of BMW's twin-turbocharged S58 inline-six, which makes nearly 60 hp more than the last M4 Competition, and roughly 80 hp more than the previous non-Competition M4.

The question remains: who would want such a thing? We're not sure. Perhaps you're the sort of person who simply must have the latest and greatest of everything, but your budget precludes you from buying an actual 2021 M4 Competition. Or maybe you're someone with a very particular sense of style, who actually quite likes a car that bears a striking resemblance to Nigel from The Wild Thornberrys.

Whatever the case may be, KITT's new G82-inspired front fascia for the F30-generation BMW 3er and 4er will be available soon.
