Manhart Turns Audi RS Q8 Into 900-HP Missile

Tuning / Comments

Only ten examples of Manhart's new super SUV will be made.

SUVs don't get much more outrageous than the Audi RS Q8, but that hasn't stopped tuning companies from taking it to the next level for customers who crave even more power. Last year, Germany's Manhart tuning house previewed its new limited-edition tuning package for the RS Q8. One year later the ambitious aftermarket project is complete, and it's an absolute monster: meet the Manhart RQ 900.

In stock form, the Audi RS Q8's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generates 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. That's more than enough muscle for most people to handle. But some people are crazy, and in response, Manhart has increased the output to a jaw-dropping 918 hp and a mountain-moving 1,180 lb-ft of torque.

Surprisingly, this isn't the most powerful Audi RS Q8 you can buy - that accolade belongs to the 1,010-hp RS Q8 Goliath by Wheelsandmore.

To achieve this colossal power increase, Manhart didn't just simply remap the ECU. Under the hood, you'll find a custom intercooler, carbon intake, and a turbo performance kit. No sprint or quarter-mile times were revealed, but it's probably safe to assume this 900-hp missile is significantly faster than a stock RS Q8, which accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 190 mph with ceramic brakes, which are fitted to the RQ 900 as standard.

Alternatively, Manhart offers upgraded brakes to improve the stopping power even further. The German tuner has also fitted a stainless-steel exhaust system featuring adjustable valves and four tailpipes measuring 3.93 inches each in diameter. The factory air suspension has been lowered by 1.18 inches to 1.57 inches.

As with most of Manhart's wild creations, the RQ 900 is finished in black paints with gold trim strips and lettering. To make the exterior look even more aggressive than the standard SUV, a widebody kit adds wider fenders, a front spoiler, side skirts, a rear spoiler, and a prominent diffuser. Massive 24-inch wheels finished in matte black with gold trim and 295/30 ZR24 front and 355/25 ZR24 rear tires round off the exterior enhancements.

Inside, the interior is upgraded with leather upholstery featuring decorative stitching and gold accents matching the exterior, along with custom floor mats. Last year, Manhart confirmed that only ten examples of the RQ 900 will be made.
